LOCATION

Winchfield Court is conveniently located about 10 minutes' drive from Winchfield station from where the scheduled train time to Waterloo is 50 minutes. Access to the M3 takes about 10 minutes. Heathrow and Gatwick airports are both about an hour and a half's drive away.

The nearby village of Hartley Wintney has shops, banks, pubs and restaurants. The village of Odiham, with its rows of fine buildings on the main street, is about the same distance away. In the other direction lie Fleet and Farnham.

The larger towns of Basingstoke, Reading and Guildford are all within easy reach.

SCHOOLS

There is a primary school in Dogmersfield and there are secondary schools in Fleet.

CHURCHES

Winchfield has its own parish church of St Mary the Virgin. Some of its features adorn this website. The three Anglican churches in Winchfield, Dogmersfield and Hartley Wintney distribute a parish magazine, "Contact". Roman Catholic and other denominations have their own churches in the area.

MEDICAL

Routine medical and dental facilities are available in Fleet and Hartley Wintney. There are hospitals at Frimley Park and in Basingstoke.

RECREATION

There is a good selection of cinemas and theatres in Basingstoke, Reading, Guildford and Woking. The nearest pub to Winchfield Court is The Barley Mow, a 5 to 10 minute walk away. There is a second pub in Winchfield, the Winchfield Arms, near the station. In the other direction there are The Queen's Head in Dogmersfield and the George and Lobster and The Black Horse in Crookham Village.

There is a Four Seasons Hotel in Dogmersfield Park.

In Hitches Lane, 5 to 10 minutes' drive away, there is a sports centre with a pool, gym and games facilities. There are several golf courses nearby.

THE BASINGSTOKE CANAL

At the end of Pale Lane and opposite The Barley Mow there is access to the Basingstoke Canal. The canal is navigable among most of its length and the towpath is open to walkers and cyclists.
